Soulmate Drawing From Your Birth Chart

Answer twelve questions. We read your Descendant, Venus, Mars and Moon, describe the person your chart points to, and sketch them in pencil — plus where you’re likely to meet and when.

01What Is a Soulmate Drawing?

A soulmate drawing is a portrait of the partner your birth chart describes, built from your Descendant sign, your 7th-house ruler and your Venus placement — then rendered as a pencil sketch.

The idea went viral through apps like Starla and Astra: enter your birthday, get a sketch of “the one”. Most of those soulmate drawings are locked behind a subscription, and none of them show you why the face looks the way it does.

This soulmate drawing does the reading first. You see the placements, you read what they say about the person, and only then decide whether you want the pencil portrait.

Psychic sketches vs astrology-based soulmate drawings

A psychic soulmate drawing is produced by a person (or a queue of people) working from your name and birthday. An astrology-based soulmate drawing is produced from four measurable points in your chart. The difference is not which one is “real” — it is which one you can check.

What a soulmate drawing can and can’t tell you

A chart describes a type, not a name. Your soulmate drawing shows the temperament, energy and look you are wired for — the pattern the right person tends to fit. It cannot tell you their address, and anyone selling that is selling a feeling. Treat this as a mirror of your own chart, and a very good conversation starter.

02How Your Birth Chart Describes Your Soulmate

Four placements do almost all the work in any astrology soulmate drawing. Here is what each one contributes, and why we ask for a birth time.

The Ascendant–Descendant axis: the Descendant is the sign setting on the western horizon at your birth, and it describes “the other”.

The Descendant: the face of “the other”

The Descendant is the sign that was setting on the western horizon when you were born — exactly opposite your rising sign. Where the Ascendant is “you”, the Descendant is “the other”: the qualities you look for in a partner and often meet in them before you recognise them in yourself. It is the single most important placement in a soulmate drawing.

Descendant by element

Fire (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius)

Bold, warm, in motion. The drawing gets sharper lines, a lifted chin and an expression that is already halfway to laughing.

Earth (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn)

Steady and tactile. Softer shading, solid bone structure, a calm mouth. Someone who shows up.

Air (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius)

Light and curious. Balanced proportions, animated eyes, a face that looks like it is mid-sentence.

Water (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces)

Deep and receptive. Rounded features, heavier shadow around the eyes, a gaze that holds.

Venus: what you find beautiful

Venus is your taste — what you find beautiful, how you flirt, what you call romantic. In a soulmate drawing Venus decides the features and the style: full lips and warm eyes for Venus in Taurus, symmetry and dimples for Venus in Libra, sharp cheekbones and a level stare for Venus in Scorpio. It is the layer that makes the sketch feel like yours.

The 7th-house ruler: where you’ll meet them

Every sign has a ruling planet. The planet ruling your Descendant sign is your 7th-house ruler, and the house it sits in tells you the setting where partnership tends to show up: the 9th house for travel and study, the 6th for work, the 11th for friends. This is the part of the soulmate drawing no app offers, because it needs a real chart with houses.

Mars and the Moon: chemistry and comfort

Mars describes attraction and pace — the eyes and posture in the drawing. The Moon describes what you need to feel safe, which colours the expression. Together they explain why two people with the same Descendant still fall for very different faces.

03How to Get Your Soulmate Drawing in 3 Steps

Birth data, twelve preferences, then a reading and a pencil portrait.
Birth data, twelve preferences, then a reading and a pencil portrait.
  1. 1

Enter your birth date, time and place

Date sets Venus, Mars and the Moon. Time and place set the Descendant and the houses. If you don’t know the time, tick the box and we use your Sun’s opposite sign instead.

  2. 2

    Answer nine preference questions

Who you’re looking for, age, face, eyes, hair, build, energy and style. Your answers lead the drawing; the chart adds the subtle layer underneath.

  3. 3

Read the reading, then unlock the drawing

The reading is free and appears immediately with three badges showing where it came from. The pencil portrait is $4.99, or included three times a month with Pro. Nothing is drawn until you say so.

💡Pro tip: A birth time within about twenty minutes is enough. If yours is a rough guess, the Descendant sign is usually still right — it changes only every two hours or so.

04What Does My Soulmate Look Like? Reading the Drawing

Once your soulmate drawing is on the page, here is how to read it against your chart.

Face, build and presence

Overall shape and posture come from the Descendant’s element and your build answer. Fire and air Descendants read lighter and more upright; earth and water read heavier and stiller. If the drawing feels calmer than you expected, look at your Moon.

Style and detail

Clothing, hair finish and the small decisions — collar, jewellery, how neat the hair is — are Venus plus your style answer. Venus in Capricorn tidies things up; Venus in Pisces lets them drift.

Eyes and energy

The gaze is Mars. Mars in Scorpio or Aries produces a direct, held stare; Mars in Libra or Pisces softens it. Your “eyes” answer sets the mood, Mars sets the intensity.

Why every drawing is different

Twelve Descendants, twelve Venus signs, twelve Moon and Mars signs, and nine preference answers with three to seven options each — the same soulmate drawing cannot be sent to two people. Give the same chart and answers twice and you get the same reading, which is the point.

05Where and When You’ll Meet Them

This is the part of a soulmate drawing that only works with a real chart. Two tools from the rest of AstroChart feed it.

The 7th-house ruler by house

The house your 7th-house ruler sits in points to where you are most likely to meet.
The house your 7th-house ruler sits in points to where you are most likely to meet.
  • 011st — through your own initiative; you walked in alone.
  • 022nd — money, work you are paid for, a place you go to buy what you value.
  • 033rd — the neighbourhood, siblings, classes, a friend of a friend.
  • 044th — home, family, the town you came from.
  • 055th — pleasure, creativity, a casual date, children.
  • 066th — the workplace, a gym, a clinic, daily routine.
  • 077th — introductions by couples, weddings, contracts.
  • 088th — a turning point: loss, inheritance, therapy, shared money.
  • 099th — travel, study, another country or culture.
  • 1010th — career, a conference, a mentor, someone established.
  • 1111th — friends, communities, causes; friendship first.
  • 1212th — hidden or unlikely: a retreat, a hospital, a chance encounter.

Your Venus line on the map

Astrocartography maps where each planet sat on the horizon at your birth. Your Venus Descendant line is the strip of the world where Venus was setting — the classic “love line”. We list the nearest cities under your reading; the full line is on the free astrocartography map.

Timing windows from transits

Jupiter and Venus moving over your Descendant or your 7th-house ruler are the textbook “meeting” transits. We scan the next twelve months and show the windows with their peak dates. They are windows, not appointments.

06Soulmate Drawing Apps vs This Free Reading

Starla, Astra and the psychic sketch shops all draw a face. Here is what each one asks of you, honestly.

To be fair to the apps: their daily notifications are good at keeping you thinking about the drawing, and if you like a stream of small readings that is worth paying for. What they do not give you is the chart behind the face, or a map.

07Are Soulmate Drawings Real? What the Evidence Says

Search “are psychic soulmate drawings real” and you find the same complaints: delivery days late, the same face sent to several customers, refunds refused. A 2025 review of one service put the price at $20–40 and listed “generic or repetitive sketches” as the top complaint. That is a business problem, not proof that the idea is worthless.

An astrology soulmate drawing makes a narrower claim. It says: your chart describes a type; here is that type, drawn. The claim is checkable — the badges above your drawing name the placements — and repeatable, because the same chart produces the same reading.

Is it “real”? It is as real as astrology is for you. What we can promise is that nothing here is random, nothing is recycled, and you see the reading before you spend a cent.

08Frequently Asked Questions

The twelve-question quiz, the full written reading, the three chart badges, the “where you’ll meet” panel and the first timing window are free and need no account. The AI pencil drawing is $4.99 for one, or three a month included with Pro.

How this page is calculated

Planet positions and house cusps come from astronomy-engine (Swiss Ephemeris-grade accuracy, Placidus houses). The Descendant is the 7th-house cusp; the 7th-house ruler uses modern rulerships. The Venus line and transit windows use the same engines as the astrocartography map and the transit chart. The portrait is generated by an image model from a prompt built only from your answers and your placements — no names, no photos.
