Your Sun Sign Is Just the Beginning

Your zodiac sign (Sun sign) represents your core identity — but it's only one piece of the puzzle. Your Moon sign reveals your emotional nature, and your Rising sign shapes how others perceive you. Together, they form your 'Big Three' — the foundation of your astrological profile.

What Is the Zodiac?

The zodiac is a belt of sky extending about 8 degrees on either side of the ecliptic — the apparent path of the Sun across the sky over the course of a year. This belt is divided into 12 equal sections of 30 degrees each, with each section named after the constellation that historically occupied that space.

In Western (tropical) astrology, the zodiac begins at the vernal equinox (around March 21) with Aries, regardless of where the actual constellations are now positioned. This system is based on seasons, not stars — which is why it's called 'tropical' astrology.

Each zodiac sign is associated with an element (Fire, Earth, Air, Water), a modality (Cardinal, Fixed, Mutable), and a ruling planet. These three attributes combine to create each sign's unique character.
